If you've popped into Gardening World recently, you'll have seen a sea of colour beginning to bloom. Every year, our team works tirelessly to hand-plant and nurture  1,000 hanging baskets and hanging pots right here on-site. When we say "home-grown," we mean it—and that makes a world of difference for your garden.

The "Gardening World" Difference

Why choose one of our 1,000 baskets? It's all about the upbringing:

  • Grown for the Kent Coast: Our baskets are raised in our Sittingbourne greenhouses. They aren't shocked by the local air because they were born in it.
  • Better Root Systems: We give our plants the time and space to develop deep roots before they leave us. This means they are more drought-tolerant and less likely to wilt the moment you get them home.
  • Professional Feeding: Every basket we grow is started with professional-grade compost and slow-release fertilisers, ensuring the very best start for you to take over and grow on at home.

What's in the Mix This Year?

Our 2026 collection features a huge variety of styles, from classic English cottage looks to vibrant, modern bicolours:

  • The Classics: Timeless Fuchsias and trailing Geraniums for a dependable splash of colour.
  • The Pollinators: Baskets packed with Verbena and Calibrachoa (Million Bells) that bees and butterflies adore.
  • Low Maintenance: Our hanging plastic pots are designed to retain moisture, making them the perfect choice for busy gardeners who want maximum impact with minimum fuss.

How to Keep Your Basket Looking Like a Pro's

Once you take your Gardening World basket home, follow these three simple rules:

  • Water Daily: Even if it rains, the leaves act like an umbrella, preventing water from hitting the soil. Check them every evening!
  • Deadhead Regularly: Pinching off faded flowers tells the plant to keep producing new ones.
  • The July Boost: By mid-summer, even our slow-release feed needs a top-up. Switch to a liquid feed once a week for a spectacular late-season show.

With nearly 1,000 baskets currently growing on, you're sure to find the perfect match for your home. Come down to Newington and pick yours straight from the grower!
